KNOWN WORLD DEVELOPMENT NOTES
The
KnownWorld is meant to be the entirety of the OGL SRD within a few short
MegaHexes of distance. This means that there are dungeons to explore as well as common townsfolk to interact with. There are strange magical mysteries to discover, demons to vanquish, dragons to subdue, and even alternate planes of existence intersecting within the realms of the
KnownWorld. This is a place of adventure that embodies all that is at the core of the OGL System
SCOPE
The scope of a
KnownWorld campaign is such that the majority of persons encountered are "commoners", and low level (1-3) at that. At 4th-5th level you've started to make a name for yourself. By 9th or 10th, you're "somebody." By 15th, you truly stand upon the ranks of the elite. Beyond that - and by favor of the gods! - you join the ranks of those the bards still sing songs about...
BELIEFS
MAGIC
Magic is prevalent in the KnownWorld. That is, while it remains beyond the reach of the commoner, it is certainly within their observable world. One can say the same for monsters- while not everybody has seen a dragon, there are not any who "disbelieves" in them.
RELIGION
Thee New Church Ov Kuvera: is the official religion of the Empire, tied closely to every aspect of Imperial government, and is served by a knighthood called Thee Order Ov Dawn - elite defenders of the faith. The high priests serve as judges and advisors to officials throughout the government of the greater Empire ov New Kuvera. Domains granted to the priests are Knowledge, Law, Protection and Sun. Templars usualy wear white and gold robes emblazoned with the "All-seeing Eye" of Kuveros over chainmail coats. They frequently carry spear or sword and shield.
Many other far smaller and regional belief systems exist as well, such as the Eldar Pantheons of Estoril, the Elementals of the gnomekin, and the Dreaming of the Valar.
ELDAR PANTHEON
Some of the earliest creation myths of Alyth regard the Sun as one of the first gods to emerge from Darkness, along with his brother, Death, and their sister, the Earth. Together, the Sun and the Earth had many children, among them the Moons, Light (fire), and the Sea (water). But Death grew jealous of his brother, and coveted the Earth for himself. So Death bribed the Moons to hide him from his brother's glare while he fathered his own wicked children upon the Earth. For this reason Death and the life-giving Sun are ever at war with one another.

DELYAN KVEROS: First ruler of Thee New Empire ov Kuvera.
GHVL: Creator of Gothgvl, City of Thee Unborn, also known as Thee Hlf'Gvd, called Dread One SkvllKyng. Claimed to be a child of Malkyth.
PARNAYTH: Wife of Malkyth and co-creator of Thee Infinate Jewels
YRKYTH: Mad wizard who attempted to destroy the world an aeon ago.
ORGANIZATIONS
Agents ov Shvvl: Once a simple organization created to uphold order, the Shvvl have grown into a powerful force attempting to restore the prominence of technological devices, such as firearms, clockwork and steam powered technology. Despite a predilection for machinery, the Shvvl do not reject magic, as one might expect. Rather they embrace it and see the union of the two - machine & magic - as the penultimate accomplishment of order.
